Pink is a color that is often overlooked in the soft autumn palette, but I love wearing it! Just like the rest of the colors in our palette, it has to be just right. If we go too cool or light with it, the color will wash us out. And if we go too bold or bright, we’ll get overpowered in a hurry. So what are some good choices for us? I’ve got some suggestions!
First off, let’s look at a color that DOESN’T work. This pink is way too bold for my complexion. There’s no earthiness to it, and it competes with me. I really like having a “bad” color to compare other colors with to help set a baseline.
Moving in the right direction! This beautiful sweater from Faherty instantly shows its earthiness next to our bad color. See the subtle brown nature of the color.
And here it is in all its glory! The color of this blends harmoniously with my complexion and complements my cheeks beautifully.
This pinky-mauve color may be leaning a little more towards the soft summer palette, but I find it to be really flattering on me. Slightly cooler (more gray) than the previous sweater, it’s another nice option for us.
And finally, we have my favorite of the bunch. This soft rose sweater matches the color of my lips almost perfectly, and it adds a glow to my skin…what more can you ask for? I believe this is definitely one of my “knock out” colors!
I don’t have a link to the rose sweater above, but the other two items are linked here:
