My makeup game is pretty conservative. I keep it minimal, soft, and basically the same every day. I was at Target recently, and this burgundy mascara by L’Oreal caught my eye. It’s close enough to brown to be in my comfort zone, but is it different enough to be noticeable? Let’s see!
I did my makeup as usual but used my typical brown mascara on one eye and burgundy on the other. Here are the results:

And here’s an unflattering photo of them side by side. Brown is on the left, and burgundy is on the right. I can’t tell a difference!
Here are the swatches. They definitely look different here, but I don’t see any difference on my eyes. I do have darker eyelashes, so that may be part of the issue. Perhaps the burgundy would show up more on lighter lashes?
Overall, my impression of the mascara is pretty good. The formula is nice enough, and I didn’t notice any flaking (although several ladies on IG said it flaked on them). I had someone suggest that I use a burgundy eyeliner with it, which is an excellent idea! Now I’m on the hunt for one! Click the image below to shop the mascara.
