Soft Autumns can wear pink! We actually can wear numerous pinks, but as usual…there are some caveats. Our pinks aren’t too cool-toned or bright. They’re warmer and oftentimes have hints of orange or brown. We need to avoid pinks that have obvious gray or purple in them. Here are some pink colors that are well-suited for soft autumns:

Blush Pink. Our blush pink is a gentle, muted pink with a warm, peachy undertone. It’s not a sugary-sweet pastel or a cool bubblegum pink. Instead, it feels earthy, delicate, and romantic. You might also hear it called dusty peach or muted coral. If you have a lighter complexion, be sure to find a depth of this color that has enough contrast with your skin tone.

Coral Pink. For those who want to add a pop of color to their soft autumn wardrobe, coral pink is an excellent option. This color is like a pink that’s been warmed up with a little bit of orange and toned down so it’s not too bright. It’s softer than the bold corals you might see in the Spring palettes. When shopping, look for a pink that leans a little peach and doesn’t feel overly cool or neon.

Dusty Rose. Imagine the classic color of a rose. Now let’s lighten it to a pink and add some brown. This is the perfect Soft Autumn dusty rose. It’s soft, a little faded, and it doesn’t scream for attention like a bright pink. Instead, it has a cozy, vintage feel that fits right in with other earthy, muted colors of our palette. When shopping, make sure to avoid any versions of dusty rose that have obvious purple tones in them. We need a rose color that has just a tiny hint of brown or orange to keep it leaning to the warm side of neutral.

Pinks to Avoid
Here are some examples of pinks that don’t have the warm earthiness that our colors need. Notice how light, purple, and/or bright some of these colors are.
